Rafe's Redemption by Jennifer Jakes

He rode into town to buy supplies, not a woman.

For hunted recluse Rafe McBride, the dark-haired beauty on the auction block is exactly what he doesn't need. A dependent woman will be another clue his vengeful stepbrother can use to find and kill him. But Rafe's conscience won't let him leave another innocent's virginity to the riff-raff bidding. He buys her, promising to return her to St. Louis untouched. He only prays the impending blizzard holds off before she breaks his willpower.

She wanted freedom, not a lover.

Whisked to the auction block by her devious, gambling cousin, and then sold into the arms of a gorgeous stranger, outspoken artist Maggie Monroe isn't about to go meekly. Especially when the rugged mountain man looks like sin and danger rolled into one. But a blizzard and temptation thrust them together, and Maggie yearns to explore her smoldering passion for Rafe.

But when the snow clears, will the danger and secrets that surround Rafe and Maggie tear them apart?

My Review:
This is simply a terrific book to read. I enjoyed the story and the characters. Rafe McBride is one heck of hero. He’s been through the wringer and still comes out fighting. Rafe is a hermit more or less but when he goes to town one day and see Maggie Monroe for sale on the auction block, he sees a perfect match for himself. Maggie is on the auction block for her no-account gambling cousin. The sparks fly between Rafe and Maggie. Ms. Jakes is a fabulous writer of romance, suspense and drama. Can’t wait to see what she writes next.

Here is my first review/recommendation:

Mine to Hold - Cynthia Eden

New York Times and USA Today best-selling author Cynthia Eden continues her dark and sexy "Mine" romantic suspense series with...MINE TO HOLD.

She was one man's obsession...

Nine years ago, Claire Kramer's lover brutally killed her family, and he tried to kill her. She escaped, but she's been haunted ever since that attack. Too afraid to trust another man and too worried that her past will catch up with her, Claire never gets too close to anyone. But then she meets Noah York.

He must have her.

Noah York is a man with secrets. The world sees him as a billionaire hotel tycoon, but Noah has a dark and dangerous side. For years, he worked covert military operations before he built his fortune. When it comes to death, Noah is a master. He knows that he should steer clear of Claire, but the white-hot attraction Noah feels for the delicate beauty is instant--and consuming.

He will never let her go.

Someone else is just as consumed by Claire--someone who will kill to possess her. And if Noah can't stop the hunter in the darkness, he may just lose the one woman that he can't live without.
Now for my review:

I absolutely loved this book. I simply couldn't put the book down. It had all the elements I look for in romantic suspense. It had romance, passion, suspense and a happy ending. It was non-stop from the get go. The characters were flawed but in a good way. I liked learning about Claire and Noah. They were meant to be together. I am so looking forward to Drake's story. I can't wait to read what's next from Ms. Eden.
